Kawhi Leonard was ruled out indefinitely with a quad injury on Wednesday afternoon, so Anderson should stick around in the Spurs' first unit until their star is back on the floor.

Leonard has been dealing with the injury all season and has appeared in just eight games this season, averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

A vote for Marks: Popovich offered praise for former Spurs player, assistant coach and front office staffer Sean Marks, who is in his second full season as Brooklyn's general manager. "This is the best approach for the next steps in his return to play". They have gone 25-12 this season without Leonard in the lineup as of Wednesday night and have benefitted from strong play by LaMarcus Aldridge, who has shouldered the go-to scorer's load on the offensive end of the floor.

The struggle continues for Kawhi Leonard and his 2017-18 season. The veteran Spaniard finished the game with 13 points (on 5-for-8 on FG), 12 rebounds and seven assists. From a defensive first mentality player to a total package, The Klaw redefined his game which helped him to create his name. With a healthy nucleus of Caris LeVert, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Spencer Dinwiddie and Allen Crabbe the Nets are pretty exciting to watch and could do damage in the years to come. When the Spurs blew it open in the third quarter, the Nets found themselves digging deep once again in comeback mode. It remains to be seen when Leonard may return, but it's clear that the team won't rush him back and will let him properly rehab his injury. We played really well to climb back into it, and then we had a little bit of lapses in judgment. Even though this was a loss, the Nets can feel good about how they played.

"It's a horrible situation".

Mills had five-from-five three-pointers off the bench by half-time before finishing with a 70 shooting percentage at the Barclays Center on Wednesday. And it's tough to get a rhythm and get a flow to the game for sure.

"With Sean, he's going to stay the course", Popovich said. The Spurs are 14-3 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Brooklyn, 24-7-1 ATS in the last 32 meetings and the home team is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings. "He's not going to hit six or seven 3s every night, but the better we shoot the more chance we have to win".
