With the Creators Update, Microsoft officials told this group of users the company would continue investigating in the hopes of getting the updates to them.

With all of these security technologies, Microsoft has built the most secure Windows version ever with Windows 10. Windows Insiders twitter account just tweeted a screenshot with the Build 17074 in it, before deleting the tweet. Rather than wait for Microsoft's signal, enterprises are encouraged to roll out upgrades, albeit to internal piloting programs, as soon as consumers are offered them, and then move on to environment-wide deployment as soon as testing is completed and corporate IT staff are confident workflows won't be sundered.

Windows 10 users can also manually install the Fall Creators Update by heading to Microsoft's software download site and clicking Update Now.

Cable today also touted tools, notably Windows Analytics, that Microsoft now offers business customers.

Microsoft has tentatively set end-of-support dates for 1709, as well as past upgrades, in a fact sheet found on its support site. Here's what you need to know about the Edge improvements in Windows 10 Insider build 17074. Updates will stop arriving for the unsupported Windows 10 implementations, so that's perhaps a compelling factor for keeping the OS updated and monitoring when channel releases arrive.

"Refreshed media will be published to Windows Update, Windows Update for Business, WSUS [Windows Server Update Services], and VLSC [Volume Licensing Service Center] starting the week of January 22, 2018", the announcement indicated. Unfortunately, running the built-in audio troubleshooter fails to fix the problem.

Microsoft has made another bunch of improvements to the Edge browser, including an overhauled Hub view that displays more content, and is more intuitive to use. It is important to note that computer's with AMD processors will have this preview build blocked due to the Spectre & Meltdown security update rollout as explained in this support article. Not only does the feature allow users to carve out a couple of focused and productive hours out of a busy day, it can help prevent embarrassing, potentially career-ending notifications from various applications.

The long-term servicing editions of Windows 10 don't get new OS features delivered automatically.

Those with Automatic Updates set to run who have Windows 10 Anniversary Update (1607) or Creators Update (1703) will see reminders that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (1709) is ready to install.
