It would be huge, something like a Mercedes-Benz Unimog.

Elon Musk said in a tweet on Tuesday (December 26), "I promise that we will make a pickup truck right after Model Y. Have had the core design/engineering elements in my mind for almost 5 years. Am dying to build it", Musk wrote in a Twitter post. The Model Y is an electric SUV that's due for release in about two years.

The electric vehicle maker first announced plans for a pickup truck last July, alongside a "master plan" to develop a commercial truck, a public transport bus and a compact sport utility vehicle. Tesla posted a big loss of $671 million in the third quarter as it struggled to ramp up production of its new $35,000 Model 3 small car. The CEO discussed it briefly in a May financial call in which he said the Model Y would come "sometime in 2020 or, aspirationally, sometime in 2019". But he offers no professional investment advice and would rather not be responsible for you losing money, so don't jump to conclusions.

Electric vehicles are steadily improving and gaining in popularity.

Considering that the onboard web browser utilizes a modified version of a Linux operating system (Ubuntu), Musk stated that Tesla had to go through and upgrade a number drivers, along with an update to the OS itself.

Specifically, the CEO said that the semi announcement would happen in September 2017, and he promised a pickup truck announcement some time between October 2018 and April 2019. Unfortunately for those who enjoy driving larger vehicles, there are no equivalent options in fully electric vehicles.
